Rescue and The Hunt for the Watcher

Well a few days ago Rescue was released! I wish I could afford her, (I have almost every Iron Man in the game, except the new Iron Patriot and Arctic Armor).

So, anyway, today I logged in the game for the first time in two weeks. I got the cheapest sidekick gold can buy: a trouble-bot. Oh well, at least it increases squad level.

I also maxed Hawkeye, so now I'm on to maxing Hope Summers.

---

In my comments section there's been a conversation about The Watcher, an alien who watches over everything and possesses an enormous amount of knowledge. In comments section, user "708f448a-c974-11e2-af91-000bcdcb5194", (and you KNOW I copied and pasted that!), said that the Watcher is in the Baxter Plaza Zone and you can give fractals to him to get Spiderman Noir. Said fractals apparently can be found in missions, zones, on the wheel and in the store. James Shield in the comments said that when you play as Green Goblin, the Watcher Mayehm Mode mission takes the place of the Green Goblin one, and said that proof was in the Green Goblin Vignette video.

Well, half right and half wrong.

That's the Watcher from the video. He's standing in Annihilus's place, in Baxter Plaza. However, when I traveled there today, I did not see the Watcher. I also didn't see fractals available for purchase in the store, see them in the zones, get them as a prize on the wheel, or as a prize in a mission. :(

So, basically that means I didn't see anything, but maybe that's because I wasn't playing as one of the Mystery Box villains, or because I'm not a member.

Who knows? But if you're a member or are playing as a Mystery Box villain, or both, tell me if you can see the Watcher in Baxter Plaza or any fractals.

If not I hope they release the Watcher soon, because I REALLY want to play as Spiderman Noir!!

Green Goblin Announced!

Looks like we'll be getting to play as Green Goblin! Can't wait to fly around on his awesome glider! The fact that it's included in his image definitely indicates we'll be flying around on it.

So I guess this means we'll definitely be getting to play as Annihilus and Avengers Loki! Sweet!
Now what's up with that Spiderman in the corner?! Is he the Spiderman in the game right now? If so, why'd they put him there? Does this mean they'll be getting rid of the original Spiderman from the store? Or is he... *shudder* ...Ben Reily 2?! D:

Here's my predictions for May!
Note: These are my predictions for how they will release heroes and villains, and may not be totally accurate, considering that they could just as easily release all the villains next and save the rest of the heroes for last. The predictions in blue are he ones that I think they will be more likely to choose.
Also, they could release all these guys on Wednesdays or Fridays but I'm picking Thursday because it's in between.

Well, that's about it!
And let's hope that that isn't Ben Reily 2.

M.O.D.O.K. Available as a Challenge "Hero"

An update to the game on Wednesday added over twenty new challenges, which mostly have to do with defeating Mayhem Mode villains. Me, I'm not even past that Wolverine challenge, but now I'll be working harder than ever to get past it to get M.O.D.O.K. !

There's also two new potions and... hey, look, ole werewolf of the night is back again... what did I tell you? The new potions let you max your hero faster, but personally I think the free way is still better. I mean, isn't the point to play through all the levels?

What do you think? Post in the comments section!

Ends of the Earth Spiderman: Hero Review

Welcome to the first thorough and complete hero review! Most of my reviews so far has been pretty casual as far as how in-depth I went to review the heroes. However, lately I've been away from the game a little, and while I was I decided it was time for a proper hero review.
I purchased the $20 gold package, (see post below for details), and purchased Ends of The Earth Spiderman!

I ran through the Green Goblin boss fight, the Venom boss fight, and the Lizard mission, (all Spiderman enemies, hee hee), to gather information about his "FIGHTING".

Anyway, here's the review!

---

DETAILING

There are tiny rivets on his arms, rings of black on his fingers, and tiny "ribs" on the sides of his chest. EOTE Spiderman has some of the best detailing I've seen in the game, aside of course from Avengers Ironman.

I give EOTE Spiderman's detailing a 9/10!

EXPLORATION

EOTE Spiderman does not have standard exploration by any means. He can jump normally, swing through the air on a spider silk thread, crawl up walls, or use his jetpack!

Look! Up in the sky! It's Spiderman! It's Ironman!
No! It's Ends of the Earth Spiderman!

EOTE Spiderman's walk/turn/jump/swing animations are all smooth and fluid, without any awkwardness, and the transitions between them are subtle and feel right.

I give EOTE Spiderman's exploration a 10/10!

FIGHTING

EOTE Spiderman has a great combo chain. It's fast and it isn't overpowered. His Hero Up, which coincidentally has a great reference to the comics where he shoots balls of webbing, is similarly fast.
His first power up damages and freezes enemies for around five seconds, giving you time to take care of big bosses or more dangerous henchmen, tactical-wise.

I tried to count the damage points deducted from enemies in his combo chain and I believe it's 4-6-14-21-39. Like I said, not overpowered, but fast enough that it makes up for it's lack of power. I was able to get adamantium on the Venom boss battle, and I NEVER get adamantium on the Venom boss battle.

I give EOTE Spiderman's fighting a 8.2/10!

COOL FACTOR

Like a boss.

What more could you ask then for a Spiderman repaint by the way of Tony Stark that also happens to tie in to a comic storyline?

What more is there to say?

I give EOTE Spiderman's cool factor a 9/10!

OVERALL

Overall, EOTE Spiderman is the way repaints should be done. Don't just change up the colors and slap a new name on it! Here's to more quality repaints in the future!
My only complaint is that he wasn't released alongside Iron Spider, who I originally confused him with.

I give EOTE Spiderman a 9/10 overall!

---

Well, that about wraps it up for my Ends of the Earth Spiderman review!
Keep a look out for my new Playable Villains What-If Bonus and another What-If coming your way.
This time, I'm going to focus on quality over quantity and get this next What-If looking great, with only a few characters and only two posts, rather then the eight posts I've been doing recently.

Until next time!

Ends of the Earth Spiderman Released

Now, normally here's where I'd say, "Sorry but I can't review this guy for you because I'm not a member."

Well, I'm afraid this time's no different. BUT! All hope is not lost! Just because this month looks to be full of awesome releases, I'm letting you decide: Should I finally give in and go back to being a member, or buy gold, or do neither?

Member benefits:
You'd get some more reviews from me about new releases!
I'd finally get to review Avengers Hawkeye and Avengers Nick Fury, completing my avengers hero review set.
I'd stop being in the dark about whether or not members get full rewards still. (i.e. not so limited Prize Wheel rewards).

Gold buying benefits:
More expensive then becoming a member and you get less then if you were a member but even so, it's still faster then spinning the prize wheel and logging in every day.
I'd get to buy a lot of heroes that I didn't have the gold to review before.

Non-member benefits:
All the silver I get can be saved for that awesome just released Agents-Only hero!
I can max out all my current heroes without getting too many new ones.

Vote on the poll to tell me which choice you think I should make!
Like the contestants on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" know: If you're facing a hard choice, poll the audience!

Spiderman Month Incoming!

Ends Of The Earth Spider-Man and Spider-Man Noir are rumored for future weeks... as well as Iron Spider, (at last)! If this was a perfect month then we'd also get the Mysterio mission!

Anyway, from what I hear, do NOT purchase the Venom Mystery Box. The odds that you will get Venom in the box first, second or even third try are extremely slim. However, if you tough it out a few months or so I'll bet that they release Venom as a Agents-Only hero around then. Speaking of predictions, I correctly predicted Doc Doom's return, so get him now! If you're the patient type, don't, because it's pretty obvious he'll be coming back again. If you want to risk it all or just have 9000 gold to burn, it costs around 200 gold a box, so I hear.

By the way, a short note about images. Previously, I have had images go missing because I linked to them through url, meaning that when they changed location or were deleted, the image in the post went missing or was deleted as well. To prevent this, I will now be uploading all of my images from my own computer, by dragging any images I find on the web onto my desktop and uploading it. If you own an image I use and want it removed from my post for whatever reason, contact me in the comment section below and I'll remove it.

Squirrel Girl Released!

At long last, Squirrel Girl is released! This almost makes me want to get a membership, but re-"member" that I need to max out every hero I have currently to get one. Right now I'm on Hawkeye, but because my computer is slow I'm having trouble getting into the game every day.

But I'm working on getting a new computer soon, hopefully one that will be faster, and then I'll be able to review the newest heroes for you guys.

Mayhem Mode and A New Hero

Looks like these maniacal masterminds have taken to the streets! Unfortunately I can't get into the game at the moment, due to my slow computer. :(

I will follow up as soon as I can with a post with images.
Also, Arachne has been released! Is she awesome or just a Spider Woman repaint?
Sadly, I won't be finding out, because I'm not a member.

Hmm, I need a faster computer and a new membership really badly, don't I?

Wonder Man Released

Wow, it's Wonder Man! I WONDER what its like to play as him! Unfortunately, I cannot find out, seeing as I still don't have enough gold! :(

Speaking of Wonder, guess who's coming next What-If week! ;)

Goliath Now Available!

He's here! Sadly, not only do I not have enough gold, he's Agents-Only!
Also, Classic Wolverine is back for a limited time, so if you've been wishing you'd gotten a code for him, you can now get him to complete your hero collection!

Sasquatch Released - Plus a Mission

Today, after some difficulty, (my computer is very old), I managed to snap a picture of these new items in the store!

First there's a new mission, which comes with a crisis edition, but that's unfortunately Agents-Only. The normal version is for free players however, so I got that one after spending some time on the wheel. I tried to play it but my computer froze. Sigh.

But now there's also Sasquatch! Yet another 900 gold hero, though.

But if you purchased a membership, or can afford it, I'd probably get the new hero, seeing as he looks like a strong fighter. :) Also, there are a lot of heroes on sale, so getting into the game is definitely worth it right now. :D

PS: I'm finishing up Superman as I write this!

Guardian Released and Another Poll!

Another awesome release, this time it's the Alpha Flight member Guardian! Hopefully we'll see more Alpha Flight members soon, as well as a new loading screen! (please)!
By the way, Gladiator Hulk is back, and it looks like for good this time! Yay! :D

Yet again, I only have 140 gold right now, so I can't get Guardian. But he'll be one of the heroes on my list of who to get when I'm a member, definitely!

---

There's a new poll out: who do you want to see in my Justice League What-If?
I'll take the five most voted on and put them in my What-If!
Also, you can vote on multiple heroes! And don't forget, the CW version of Green Arrow looks like this:

So get to voting, and I'll discuss the results when the poll ends!

Battle Armor Thor Released!

At last Battle Armor Thor has been released! Yay! :D
Unfortunately, once again I cannot review him, (sigh), once again due to my lack of gold. :(

Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR HEROES! Now that that's out of the way, I can talk a little about the newest release in SHSO... Doc Doom! I've been enjoying their introduction of villains into SHSO, I can't think of many super hero based games that let you do that! :D

Anyway, I really, really wish I could get him but alas, for Christmas this year I did not get enough gold.  So, sorry about that. :(

But, if you have enough gold, (aim for around 900, but I can't confirm that), so hop into the game and pick him up, since, he won't be here long!

What-If: Thunderbolts - Week 4

The following post is fictional. None of the new characters or events described actually happened.

---

Yaaaay! All the heroes are released! I managed to snag a picture by convincing several other players to participate. Pretty awesome, huh? This happened right before I was about to spin the prize wheel to get the gold for Scourge.

Speaking of Scourge... :P

I purchased both Scourge and Ghost, (completing more challenges helped me get both of them).

Now my Thunderbolts collection is complete! :D

SCOURGE

EXPLORATION

Scourge's first power emote!

Scourge is so fun to play as, I managed to get him up to level ten TODAY! It's weird, I kept getting invited to missions and I spent a hundred gold coins on two Hero Up potions, just to level him up. This means I can guarantee that Scourge is a great fighter, but we'll get to that in a moment. For now, I just want to say that his exploration is sub-par, but due to his cool factor, (like so many heroes), I barely noticed.

I give his EXPLORATION a 3.9/5!

FIGHTING

Scourge is underpowered, unlike most of the Thunderbolts released this month, but at least he's a sniper, which makes it a lot less boring. His Hero Up is the same as his first power emote, where he blasts the ground, causing a tiny earthquake.

I give his FIGHTING a 4.2/5!

COOL FACTOR

Scourge is pretty cool. I like his mask and his coat, but the detail is kind of hard to see.
I give his COOL FACTOR a 3.7/5!

GHOST

Yay! It's Ghost! Ghost is one of my favorite heroes in the comics, but how does he compare in the game? Find out below!

EXPLORATION

Ghost floats while he explores the zones, so that's kind of cool. He's like Sentry. Flight, floats, but no double jump. Oh well. Still, it's cool to glide around the zones. :)

I give his EXPLORATION a 4.1/5!

FIGHTING

Ghost can shoot enemies with his electric guns, turn invisible, and my favorite part is that his first power attack lets him hack into robotic enemies and force them to be his allies for a brief period. It's awesome, and I can't wait to see what his other power attacks are!! :D

I give his FIGHTING a 4.7/5!

COOL FACTOR

Ghost is pretty cool, but I would have liked to see a bit of transparency, like in the comics. Also, even though he's skinny, he should be at least 20% thinner. :P

I give his COOL FACTOR a 3.9/5!

---

Well, that wraps up the Thunderbolts month! I wonder what will come in the future?

What-If: Thunderbolts - Week 3

The following post is fictional. None of the new characters or events described actually happened.

---

Penance was released today! Along with... wait for it... the Crossbones mission! Yippee!

First of all, I apologize for not being correct in my predictions for this month. My new guess is that Scourge and Ghost will be released next week. Yay! Hope I have enough gold to buy both of them...

Anyway, on to Penance!

---

PENANCE

EXPLORATION

Penance actually has a double jump, which surprised me, but was welcome nonetheless. :D
As you would expect, running around the zones with him is pretty fun, especially because of his cool factor and the fact that he's a new hero.

I give his EXPLORATION a 3.5/5!

FIGHTING

Today I fought as Penance for the Crossbones mission. He's slightly overpowered, especially for a week three hero, but it sure was fun running around, slinging spikes at skull-faced henchmen!
His Hero Up, where he unleashes all his spikes at once on enemies is really awesome, and is pretty well ranged.

I give his FIGHTING a 4.9/5!

COOL FACTOR

While I could've used a little more detail, the SHSO version is faithful to the comics, and that's good enough for me. I also received many new friend requests while playing as him. I managed to get him to level five, and his second power emote shows his cat, Niels, which is a nice nod to the comics.

I give his COOL FACTOR a 4.1/5! :D

---

THE CROSSBONES MISSION

OVERVIEW: The Crossbones mission takes place in an airplane hangar, which I'm not sure what is referencing but is cool anyway. The henchmen are all either male or female Skull-faced baddies. I would've liked more variety, but at least they didn't put the Nameless Ones in THIS mission like they do in so many others. Yeesh. What really shines in this mission, I think, is the boss battle.

Crossbones can call in his henchmen to help you, like many bosses, (i.e. Kingpin, Annihilus), which makes the boss fight trickier. But Crossbones actually has two stages to his fight. In the first stage, he is a sniper, shooting from far away, and you have to dodge him. In the second round, he comes down to fight you in person, which is about as fun as you'd expect.

All-in-all, I give this mission a 7.2/10!
And kudos for placing the mission in a new setting, rather then recycling an old one.

So that's it for this week! Tune in next week to see my reviews of Scourge and maybe Ghost! :D
