Awesome New Avengers Content in the Game!

So went to the Hero Up website as usual this morning and saw this. Yay Ant-Man! :D

And what is THIS?! Ooooohh!

Come on! Load load load load!!

OH MY GOSH!! AWESOMENESSS!!

MORE AWESOMENESS!!!

Okay, so once I got into the game I went to Asgard and found that Loki had replaced all the statues of other asgardians with himself! Darn that rascally fool!

One nice touch was the weight lifting cardboard stand up and the theater.

I especially like the changed ending! :D

You can also free citizens, though they just freeze right back.

But now, the new, the amazing, the awesome, the cool...

NEW LOKI MISSION! I love the way you get to this mission. It's just so cool! I wonder whether after this month is over they'll release a standalone mission for Loki.

I love the lighting on this mission! Very dark and very cool.

Out of all the puzzles on this mission, the bridge puzzle was both my favorite and the trickiest.

Loki's Maze. Yup, it's really big.

The end of the maze! It took me around 30 minutes to reach it.

OH YEAH!! :D

Loki isn't the toughest boss ever but he still is tough. His attacks are fairly easy to dodge and for the most part I stayed full health. The purpose of this mission is to give you the Cosmic Cube item you get at the end, and it doesn't award you with a medal of any kind.

I love the Loki statue in the background. It just shows how vain Loki really is.

And Loki's down for the count!

I just had to check one more thing: the hidden room.

The POWER of gold plus cosmic energy!!

Finally, I got Rogue. I should have gotten her before now, but I must admit the sale price was more welcome. And boy is she worth getting!!

She has good, solid attacks, and the Ten Thousand Apples a Day mission I played went by in a snap. She's so good, I wonder why they marked her down so low.

I got her to level two in no time, and I'm going to have a ton of fun maxxing her as a free member.

Well, that's all the SHSO news i can handle for the day. If you haven't gotten in the game yet, DO SO NOW, it's awesome!!

Maxxed Hulk at Last!

I maxxed Hulk at last! I'd been laying off the game for a bit but now I'm back!

I assumed that, this day being a Wednesday and Wednesday being the day they always release new heroes, that a cool new Ant-Man hero would be in the store today.
Well, he wasn't, and here's why.

There are about four weeks in a month. Each month they release five heroes. So, naturally, and overlap into the next month occurs, and gets longer and longer into the next month until it becomes the next month and the problem is solved. This time, I think the idea was that there wasn't any other content to release alongside Ant-Man, (usually they release heroes with a new card two pack, or a mission).
Now, what I suspect is that instead of releasing Ant-Man TODAY with no extra content, they are waiting a few days to release him with the new loading screens showing off the awesome next Avengers month!

I'm crossing my fingers that this is correct, but only time will tell with this one. :)

In other news, I've gotten to what I consider a slightly difficult challenge, (understatement).
It's the one where you have to do five easy or hard card quests in a row.
Now, if you read the amazing Mr. Time Hound Times's blog, (look in the sidebar for a link!), he mentions it once and explains how to do it. Unfortunately, it STILL took me a few hours to figure it out.

To put it even more simply then Mr. THT's awesome guide:

You have to complete five card quests in a row.
They can be easy or hard.
Each quest consists of three battles.
DON'T. LOSE.

While this challenge may sound like a walk in the park to some card experts, it's reaaalllly hard for me because I barely spend any time playing the card game.

As a final note...

Today I tested out Blade, one of the better fighters in the game. I was joined by two fellow squad members and we STILL didn't manage an Adamantium medal, having to settle for a puny Silver medal.

As far as I can tell, this is one of the toughest missions to get Adamantium on. I've played it through many times and there just doesn't seem to be a way to quickly defeat Dormammu without dying.
Does anyone know how? Please tell me in the comments!

Sunday Mission Review - Annihilus

Once again it is Sunday, and once again I'll be reviewing a mission!

Today I'll be reviewing... Repellent Bugs!

Things to Watch Out For: A couple of times, a white and red insect appears in the first and second stages. The insect is harder to defeat then the others, but if you stun him early on and start your combo there shouldn't be a problem. Originally, they had those big blue and brown robots in this mission, but they replaced them with these red and white insects. I'm actually really glad... now if they just replace those creepy purple guys in the Mole Man mission with people that actually belong there!

Boss Tips:

Annihilus has to be one of the easiest bosses in the game. In one of his attacks, he actually doesn't follow you with his laser, (or whatever it is), fire, he just floats there firing at one spot! He also has an "attack" quote unquote where he crouches down in a circle of light, only to spring back up. Unfortunately for Annihilus, he's crouches down for a considerable amount of time, allowing you to attack him. And even though he says "You can't hurt me!" while doing the attack, you CAN hurt him. My advice: Keep your distance, and go in for the kill during his sunburst attack. If you're playing on a team, identify who is attacking the boss, and go for the minions, and if nobody is attacking the boss, go for the boss.

Difficulty Rating: 3/10

Summery: Annihilus may be easy, but he has a few attacks, like a whap from his baton that deals 50+ dmg, that bump this mission up to a three.

Next Week: Home Invaders!

Up to Level 10

I finally got Hulk up to Level 10! It's a short ride from there to maxxing him!

Hulk is a fun character to explore the city with, mostly due to his awesome jumping abilities!
In missions, his combos are a bit too slow in my opinion, but his Hero Up attack is one of the best in the game!

Tune in tomorrow for my review of the Annihilus mission!

Vision Released!

The Vision was released yesterday, so I guess that just leaves Ant-Man.

Since I have some experience with these things I'd say they'll release Ant-Man on the 11th and the new loading screen posters on the 13th, (a Friday, hee hee).

Also, the people over on the wiki that's run by the CBR forum guys are doing fake hero and villain icons with their favorite heroes and villains. I thought I'd try my hand at some of this fakery, and here's what I got:

It's Darkhawk! :D
I spent at least forty-five minutes modeling the character in 3D, texturing him, posing him, rendering him, compositing him and making the text look right.

Don't know what I'll do with the model since I'm kinda stuck with it, oh well. :/

Lizard Model Sneak Peek

Today I maxxed MK1 Iron Man, and bought Captain Marvel.
So far, I'm liking Captain Marvel a lot. The voice actor does a good job, adding a bit of a stuck-up quality to his voice.

I also found out, (if you already knew this, sorry), that the card game contains many models that aren't in the game already!

That's how I got this neat screenshot of the Lizard!

I like the Lizard, and I'm most definitely going to buy his mission when it comes out. What about you? :)

Leveling Up!

Today I got to work on leveling up my MK1 Iron Man... I'm at Level 10 right now! I used to LIKE his Hero-Up but now I LOVE it! 100 dmg?! SWEET! :D

I'm also digging his last Power Attack, the machine gun. It doesn't do much to enemies, but it looks so awesome I like it anyway! :D :D :D
