SHSOFan's Top Ten Heroes!

Now, to be clear, not only are these my personal best, (they may not be yours), but these are out of just the heroes I have. :)

Number 10

Why is Gambit on this list, you ask? It's true that he's at best a clunky fighter, but I didn't pick him because he was good at fighting. I picked him for the number ten spot because A, he's my number one favorite hero, and B, he just looks really cool. Gotta love that head-sock, and trench coats never go out of style!

Number 9

Bam! Pow! It's Cable! Cable isn't the best sniper in the game, but he's still really fun to play as. Those futuristic sound effects accompanying the blasts from one of his over-sized guns are really awesome, and his star-like eye star is stylish as well.

Number 8
Ghost Rider

With his chain attacks and penance stare, plus an awesome bike to match, Johnny Blaze is a living motorcycle logo, and he also comes in 8th, for his cool factor and some of his attacks. I found his attack combo to be a bit slow, but nothing can beat the fun of riding his bike over an AIM agent, or how awesome it is to have a floating, flaming skull for a head.

Number 7
American Dream

American Dream isn't overpowered, but she isn't underpowered either. Her attacks are just between the two, in other words, in the perfect place. They're also really fast, which is one of the perks I look for when deciding on the heroes for this list. Also, mini-shields on a gauntlet on your arm?! That's just too cool to ignore.

Number 6
Avengers Hulk

This Hulk has everything the original Hulk hero has, except he's much more detailed. A bit overpowered, but not enough to be distracting, and lightning fast attacks make Avengers Hulk both my favorite Hulk I own AND Number 6.

Number 5
Avenging Wolverine

This is my favorite Wolverine in the game and I have to repeat myself here: He really is awesome! Playing as him in a mission makes you feel really powerful. I've had a lot of fun playing as this hero, and not just because all of his attacks are quick and powerful, maybe it's that new costume too. ;)

Number 4

Jean Grey

Officially the best sniper this game has, Jean Grey would be higher on my personal best list, if I liked her costume more and her Hero Up was a more powerful attack instead of a forcefield. But aside from that, she's actually a great hero to work up to, since she's still only 5,000 silver, (one of the few silver heroes left in the game). That and the powerful quick attacks she gives from a distance, (hang back and defeat more villains then your friends during a group mission!), makes her Number 4 on my list!

Number 3
Iron Man MK I

Playing as Iron Man MK I is one of the coolest things you can do in the game! He's every mecha fan's dream, he has all sorts of little details and things that make him even more awesome, like a rocket boost jump, and did I mention that he's ridiculously overpowered, which makes him ultra-fun to play as?! :D
In fact, being overpowered is actually one of the reasons he isn't higher on this list, because he doesn't have that nice balance between overpowered and underpowered that I've seen in other heroes, like American Dream.

Number 2

Since I've made it clear that I love quick and powerful attacking heroes, it should be pretty obvious why Daredevil's so far up on this list. He really balances the overpower and the underpower, (like I keep mentioning), and I really like how accurate they got the costume. All-in-all, a really fun hero to play as.

Number 1
Avengers Iron Man

If you've read my review of Avenging Ironman, you'll already know that I think that he is one of the coolest heroes in the game. Not only that, he has an incredibly unique attack combo, that not only looks awesome and is remarkably well animated, but is pretty powerful as well. I don't mind slow attacks if they pack a punch. All of Avenging Ironman's attacks are powerful, but not all of them are slow, just the really, really powerful ones. The sound effects are great, too, with all the servo noises and whirrs you'd expect during attacks, and Tom Kenny, (Starscream from Transformers Animated, Spongebob Squarepants, and many others), does his best Robert Downey Jr. impression. So, yeah. What could be better then that?!

Punisher: His combo and first power attack are too slow for me, but I like his second power emote, which is a grenade attack, and who doesn't love the Bunnisher?

Red She-Hulk: Red She-Hulk has my favorite voice in the game, and her attacks are pretty powerful. She just wasn't powerful or outstanding enough to make it onto my list. Maybe next time.

Monkey King: His armor is pretty awesome, as is his "strong" emote. He didn't make it on here because there wasn't enough room.

Avengers Captain America: A cool costume and lots of nice attack animations, some funny emotes and he's pretty powerful too, if that weren't enough. But there were already a lot of Avengers on this list.

Blade: Incoming garlic! Blade is a great swordsman and I had a lot of fun maxing him. Once again, there wasn't enough room. :(

Phoenix: Phoenix is an incredibly powerful hero, and probably deserves to be on here. I just didn't enjoy playing as her enough. But if I do "Most Powerful Heroes" one day, she'll be on that list. :D

If you have your own personal list, disagree with my choices, or think I ordered them wrong, tell me what you'd have done differently in the comments section!
And don't forget to vote on who should be in my Justice League What-If, in the sidebar!

Guardian Released and Another Poll!

Another awesome release, this time it's the Alpha Flight member Guardian! Hopefully we'll see more Alpha Flight members soon, as well as a new loading screen! (please)!
By the way, Gladiator Hulk is back, and it looks like for good this time! Yay! :D

Yet again, I only have 140 gold right now, so I can't get Guardian. But he'll be one of the heroes on my list of who to get when I'm a member, definitely!

There's a new poll out: who do you want to see in my Justice League What-If?
I'll take the five most voted on and put them in my What-If!
Also, you can vote on multiple heroes! And don't forget, the CW version of Green Arrow looks like this:

So get to voting, and I'll discuss the results when the poll ends!

Werewolf is Back for 1 Day!

Apparently, Werewolf of the Night has instantaneously poofed into existence again-- but this time for one day only. I missed getting him the first time, (not enough gold), and I'm probably going to miss him again, but I'm not worried. The fact that he's shown up at all, barely within three months of his debut, proves that it's not the last time we'll get to see his furry face. I'm hoping that SHSO gets the hero section of the shop organized in a new way so that they can bring back those old heroes, and make the others easier to find.

The one big problem they face is: how do you organize them? Alphabetically? (Probably too confusing, it'd be too much like an index). The way I'd do it is a hub interface, where you can see the new releases by clicking a button, (with the new hero's icon so you know who's come out), and then once they're old news they get sorted into their various teams. Inside the team "folders", repaints would be stacked into separate hero "folders".

When you design video-games, (yes, I do know a bit about this), one of your goals is an easy user interface. With this method, you would only have three folders to open at most: Team/Hero/Repaint. It's simple and would work better then scrolling through SHSO's many heroes. Just to be clear, I love that they have a lot of heroes, and that they've actually included more obscure heroes such as Morbius, (bet Dazzler's next!), but unless they come up with a good system for organizing the shop, it's going to be harder and harder to browse, and they'll keep archiving heroes temporarily and then flashing them back at us for brief periods of time. My guess is that they're doing this to distract us while they work on a great new system of organization, so let's keep our fingers crossed for the folks at Gazillion!

New CRISIS EDITION Missions Released

Two new Crisis Edition missions were released today-- I haven't been able to get in the game for a while so I haven't checked them out yet-- but I'll be sure to try to get in later today.

At last Battle Armor Thor has been released! Yay! :D
Unfortunately, once again I cannot review him, (sigh), once again due to my lack of gold. :(

Poll Results and More Updates

You have been polled! Thanks to this poll, you guys will be getting an awesome Justice League What-If! Now, if you want to see a specific character from the Justice League, villain or hero, tell me in the comments and I just may put them in the What-If! ;)
But before this What-If, don't forget that I promised you guys a Thunderbolts video back in Thunderbolts week two! I didn't forget, and I'll be working on that, but keep in mind that this stuff doesn't just magically appear, and that it may take some time for me to finish.

Christmas is over and Emma Frost is back... for a limited time. So if you missed her before, get her now! I've been maxing my heroes, and I'm working on getting another subscription.

Anyway, I've been eagerly awaiting the next hero! Or do you think it just might be... a villain?
If it is let's hope for Anti-Venom! :D

Some News

So first of all, I can confirm that Future Foundation Doctor Doom is 900 gold, and it appears as though he'll only last half a week more at least so get him now if you have the gold! (I'm certain that another opportunity to purchase him will present itself soon).

Also, thank you for voting on my little poll! I know you guys want more What-Ifs, so which one should be the next one? Vote in the NEW poll for what you'd like to see!

I'll go over the different choices in detail for you here:

TDKR Batman What-If
Now, I know that the previous TDK Batman was a ton of work, but it also didn't capture Batman's movie version as well as it could have. So, if you choose this option, I'll re-model Batman in SHSO, and feature Catwoman beside him and feature Bane as the villain, along with the Tumbler! :D
If this happens, I will be making a VIDEO, not a post, about the What-If, and there will be a new Gotham City zone in the video, besides all of this other crazy stuff. ;)

Justice League in SHSO
Do you want to see Wonder Woman fight alongside Batman, Superman, and a few lesser known leaguers such as Martian Manhunter and Hawkman and Hawkgirl? I know I would! This What-If would take the approach of my Thunderbolts What-If, with multiple weeks showcasing each new hero.

New Zones
I know I promised this before, and now here's your chance to see it! If you choose this option, I'll put up a poll where you'll vote which zone you would most like to see in the game, and then I'll choose it and two runners-up and model three zones, with a new character that you guys vote on it all of them, for scale. This What-If would take a distinctly different approach then the others.

So please vote, and tell me which What-If you would want next! :D

Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR HEROES! Now that that's out of the way, I can talk a little about the newest release in SHSO... Doc Doom! I've been enjoying their introduction of villains into SHSO, I can't think of many super hero based games that let you do that! :D

Anyway, I really, really wish I could get him but alas, for Christmas this year I did not get enough gold.  So, sorry about that. :(

But, if you have enough gold, (aim for around 900, but I can't confirm that), so hop into the game and pick him up, since, he won't be here long!
