The Poll Has Decided...

...that I will be getting Angel and Pheonix! :D

Thank you all for voting, and I hope you vote on the new poll on whether or not I should publish my review of the Avengers movie on this blog! :)

Also, sorry about the lack of Mission Review, for some reason scheduled posting isn't working, and I'm never on the computer on Sunday. I'll try to work out the bugs in time for next Sunday, so stay tuned.

Playing as Reptil

I've been trying to max Reptil lately, and as far as fighting heroes go, he's not all that bad.
He certainly isn't my favorite, but he'll do in a pinch.

Anyway, on a different note, do you think I should post my review of the Avengers movie on this blog when I see it? If you do, say so in the comments, (or the upcoming poll)!

New Avenger On the 4th?

Since Wednesday is usually the day of a new release and it has come and gone, I suspect that they are saving the release of a hero for May 4th. I predict it will be Iron Man, but we'll just see!

Anyway, I got Reptil since I had some extra gold. He isn't a bad fighter at all, it's kind of sad that he doesn't grow different parts of dinosaurs like in the show, maybe in a future emote that I haven't unlocked yet? :)

Hanging Out (No, Not My Stomach, My Hero!)

I was disappointed to not find a new Avenger in the store, so I bought the Kingpin mission! I'd played it once before and I remembered it was somewhat easy. Well, I was wrong. Apparently playing with friends is different then soloing on this one. I did get Adamatium, even though I failed the mission the first time around. Now the only mission I haven't played is the new Ultron one.

Also, did you spot THIS Easter Egg yet?

Well, that's all for today! Hopefully tomorrow the new Avenger will be in the store! I'll be posting a review, (if one does indeed come out), on Friday.

Combat Etiquette

Often I see people who are constantly dying in Daily Missions. They just can't seem to figure out when to start the combo, or snatch a goodie.

Below are a list of problems, with my comments in bold.

They keep on grabbing goodies when their health meter is full.

We're probably all guilty of accidentally stepping near goodies with a full meter. But people who do this constantly are probably not paying enough attention to their entire HUD. The only way I can think of to combat this problem is going on Daily Missions only when the boss summons minions. Why? Because in boss battles the only health you usually get comes dropping down in crates from the heavens. This way, if you find yourself halfway down, you can leave your selfish teammate and K.O. some henchmen, giving you a 3/4 chance you'll find something to replenish your health. With the first two, (or one), stages, you'll usually be able to find a health boost by backtracking, unless your teammate likes opening all the barrels, too!

They finish off a guy that you started to attack.

Ugh! This one I find particularly annoying, especially because it's unavoidable. My advice is, don't choose a hero with a bad Hero Up. The reason is that you'll be able to finish off guys quickly with a big Hero Up like Hulk's or MK1 Ironman's, leaving your annoying teammate no time to jump in and take out that Skrull just as you were about to.

They lag behind, waiting for you to finish off everyone for them.

Usually, I try to ignore this problem, because frankly, the guy usually quits out anyway, (most likely due to the fact that he may not be purposefully lagging, but his computer may be lagging). I'd pick a good, max health hero, and let him lag behind. He won't get points, and you will!

They jump in with a next to nothing health meter and get K.Oed.

Don't let them! Go ahead and finish off a crowd of enemies with your hero's giant Hero Up, then avoid all the goodies. The teammate will be forced to walk through them, giving him a bit of a health boost. If you feel uncomfortable doing this, then try opening barrels with a health boost and leaving them. Hopefully the teammate will see them, (man, how helpful Chat in missions would be!)

They get lost, and spend precious minutes wandering around. This is especially annoying if they are playing on a powerful hero like Thing.

Backtrack and guide them through. Also, make it a general rule of yours to not play a Daily Mission that you haven't already played, either solo or with friends. This decreases the chance that you will get lost.

The point is, Daily Missions aren't a very good way to go. The unpredictability of the people who are most likely on their first mission when they go with you is just too unsettling. But you can basically avoid it by choosing a good, strong hero, (Thing, Hulk, MK1 Ironman), and making sure to choose a good mission when it comes around, I recommend Annihilus. So, try out these tips and I hope you have a good mission! If not, you can tell me just how stupid I am in the comments.

In fact, don't bother playing a Daily Mission unless you want only about six or eight tickets, because somebody usually dies. A better thing to do is probably soloing or going with friends, the latter being the most fun. I usually solo because none of my friends are usually on, but I sometimes friend people just so that I can go on a mission with them.

Anyway, tomorrow, as you know, is Avenger hero release day! Unfortunately, I won't be able to get whoever it is because I only have 310 gold right now. BUT, on Thursday I'll be giving you guys a review with tons of pictures, like I did for Avengers Captain America, so make sure to tune in then!

A New Poll!

As it turns out I'm going to be a member from now until May 20th. In the following days and weeks I will, of course, be getting all the Avengers on the loading screen. But I will inevitably have lots of gold left over, and with that gold I can buy a few heroes! So I thought I'd leave it up to you guys to pick out the heroes that I should definitely own. It's at no cost to you, no pop-up ad, no annoying sign-in thing. Just click the ones you think I should get and click "Vote".

Please note that I will be taking all suggestions seriously, so please be careful in choosing.

Sunday Mission Review - Green Goblin

It's time for a new Sunday Mission Review!

Today I'll be reviewing... Bombs Away!

Things to Watch Out For: Green Goblin's pumpkin bombs cause 40 dmg, so don't get too close. I usually try to use them strategically, running away from Goblin's goons and watching them fly out of the frame when the bomb goes off.

Boss Tips:

Green Goblin is the easiest boss in the game so far. Ignore his 16 dmg "Pumpkin Bomb!" attack and go right into your combo, launching your Hero Up when you have enough stars. His charging attack is easy to dodge, so while he's flying around, grab the crates that fell in the meantime. Then rush back and start your combo again. Doing this means that his "Bombs bombs bombs!" attack is virtually harmless, so the charge attack and the exhaust attack are the only ones that can hurt you, (30 dmg, avoidable, around 76 dmg, unavoidable). The boss fight usually takes me around a minute and a half.

Difficulty Rating: 2.6/10

Summery:

One of the easiest missions in the game, Bombs Away's gets a 2.6 due to two of Green Gobby's attacks and the annoying teleporting henchmen.

Next Week: All For Jugger-naught!

The Results Are In!

My survey of who is the coolest looking on the loading screen is in!
It seems like Loki and Hawkeye are favored over the others. I have to agree with you guys. That new outfit Hawkeye has is super cool, and I can't wait to fight enemies as him in the game!

The Hulks

I was thinking about Avengers Hulk today. Is a little more detail and an angrier expression the only things that differentiate Avengers Hulk from Hulk? I'm expecting new animations and a new voice as well, but I'm still wondering if there is anything really significant about THIS Hulk that I MUST buy him for. I'll reserve judgement until he comes out.

Hanging Around

Not much today. Let's see. I leveled up Avengers Cap to lvl 4.
It was partially by accident, because I'm trying to save him for when I'm not a member. Ah well.

I'm starting to like his first power emote more. It's STILL the tiniest bit slow when getting trouble-bots.

I played through three missions, the first was the Daily Mission, Seeking Sneaky Mystique. I played it with two other players, but they kept on dying so I couldn't get Adamantium.

Then I played Bombs Away and the Juggernaut mission.
I got to try out American Dream on the Bombs Away mission, and you should believe everything they say about how well she fights, because she is DEFINITELY a good fighter!!

Anyway, that's all for today, (ha, that rhymed).

Avengers Captain America Release!

The First Avenger is here! :D

Now, Avengers Captain America is not exactly the hero I've been dying to get my hands on, (the new Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye and Black Widow rank higher on my list of favorites), but he IS one cool hero.
Let's go through his list of awesomeness!

----

EXPLORATION

Steve has a double jump, (I think all Captain Americas have it, but I don't have the original Captain America hero yet so I don't know), which makes it incredibly fun to explore the zones.
His first power emote, where he slams into the ground and hammers an Avengers sign into it, takes a bit long for my taste, but at least it's not TOO long, unlike a certain FANTASTIC hero I know!

I give his EXPLORATION 4.2/5!

FIGHTING

While I'm not much of a fan when it comes to hand to hand heroes, I did enjoy Steve's attack combo, which is quick and merciless. In fact, in one animation he even kicks the enemy in the face! Ouch.
His first power attack, the shield throw, gets you around 30 dmg, and because you can do it from a distance it's not half bad. His Hero Up is just like his first emote, (like Hulk, Sentry and others), but it deals 56 dmg, making up for the copied animation.

I give his FIGHTING 3.9/5!

COOL FACTOR

Avenger Captain America's got it all: cool armor, cool pouches on his belt, cool boots, cool gloves... and the fact that he's a new hero makes it all the sweeter to show off in the Daily Bugle zone.
If you like Captain America, this is probably my favorite version of him, aside from the WWII Captain America they released last month.

I give his COOL FACTOR 4.9/5!

----

Well, that's that. One last thing, though! I was greeted with THIS lovely sight as I came out of a mission:

Stay tuned for my next lousy review of an Avenger, coming Wednesday!

A Sappy Story

OMG! He's so cool!!!

Once upon a time, I wanted Gambit.

YEEESSSSSSSS!

So got him...

^_^

And then I was happy.

The End.

Ahem, sorry for the lame story, I just found those old pictures lying around on my desktop. That was back when the character selector wasn't so fancy, a time before Villainville came.

I was only about two weeks old, (HOW LONG I HAD BEEN PLAYING, not how old I was!!), when I took this picture.

Anyway, I managed NOT to screw up my daily spinning of the prize wheel with an unfortunate number of tickets, but only because I did three missions, two of which I got adamantium on, one of which I got gold on. Earned tickets from missions: 44. Not bad at all.

I guess that's it for today, stay tuned for a new special feature that occurs mid-week!

Doing Stuff

First of all, let me apologize for what is probably going to win the award this year for Worst Blog Post Title Ever. But really, there's not much else I can say, because that's exactly what I've been doing!

Anyway, to my horror this morning I discovered that I only had twelve tickets left after my daily spins!
GAH!!!

So I played about three missions and ran around all the zones collecting tickets. It took forever, but I managed to get the number up to sixty nine. Of course I'm going to have to run around AGAIN tomorrow!! I have four days to go as a member before I cancel my membership and start maxxing all the heroes I got when I was a member. When I've completed that, it will probably be July and I'll have tons of tickets, and there will be more new heroes for me to get!

Anyway, I took some photos today, like this one of Asgard.

Then I spotted a Gambit and posed next to him as Rogue.

Anyway, that's about all I have to say this time! Bye for today!

Sunday Mission Review - Sabretooth

It's time for... my Sunday Mission Review!

Today I'll be reviewing... Home Invaders!

Things to Watch Out For: There are three things to worry about in this short mission. Three BIG things. Namely, the Sentinels.

These massive robots appear roughly halfway through the mission. I find the only way to defeat these guys is to constantly run behind them, dodging their attacks, and quickly clicking to hit them with one little attack before ducking behind them again. After you get a full five stars, you can use your hero up to effectively destroy the 'bot.

Boss Tips:

Best.

Cutscene.

Ever.

When I first started out in this game it took me FOREVER to learn how to beat Sabretooth without dying, (I was a REALLY WEAK Cyclopes), but it turns out there is a trick to it: Sabretooth stops and laughs for eight seconds, and his attacks usually aren't powerful enough to stun you once you get into your combo. If worse comes to worse, it's usually pretty easy to run away from his leaping attack.

Difficulty Rating: 4.5/10

Summery:

A short, rather easy mission, Home Invaders ranks 4.5 out of ten, mostly due to three Sentinels and a particularly annoying attack that Sabretooth has.

Next Week: Bombs Away!

Hidden Hotspots?

Not just Ghost Rider, but several other heroes have apparently gotten new hotspots added!
It's pretty cool, because teleporting sure beats opening a door and jumping! :D

I noticed two new hotspots, Deadpool and Nightcrawler. However, I don't own too many heroes, so there may be more! If you spot any other ones, tell me in the comments below!

Johnny Blaze Rides At Last!

I saw two other Ghost riders riding their motorcycles and I had no idea what was going on. So I traced them to their starting point and found a green icon on the ground.

I didn't notice this feature in the game before when I first bought Ghostie, so I can only assume that it was added either in this update or a previous one. In any case it's awesome.

When Ghost Rider was first announced, I heard a lot of talk about whether he would be on his motorcycle, and ride it up buildings like he did in the first movie, (I wanted to know if he was going to turn a digging device into a gigantic flaming weapon like he did in the second movie myself). When Ghost Rider came out, it seemed like he was only going to use his motorcycle in his first power move!

So you can imagine how awesome it is knowing that you can show off and make everybody else in the zone who doesn't have Ghost Rider yet jealous! :D

Here are some other places where you can find green hotspots for Mr. Blaze.

Yet another Baxter hotspot? Does this mean there are more hotspots in the other Zones as well?

Time to hit the road.
90ยบ peel!
Time for Dark Asgard to feel the burn! Oh wait, it already has. Well, then it's time for Dark Asgard to feel even more burn!
Que "What the heck is that sound?!" from Daredevil.
Bumpity bump bump! "I knew I should have installed a more comfy seat!" says Ghost Rider.
Boing! "Ouch! See above comment!" says Ghost Rider.
Now for Villainville!

"Oh man not again!" says Ghost Rider.
"This sure beats a Stairlift!" says Ghost Rider.
Alright. So you may have noticed I left the Daily Bugle zone out of this showcase. That was on purpose. I don't want to spoil all the fun of finding it!

Good luck!
