Angel - Hero Review

So I finally got Angel! I've been wanting Angel for a while, ever since I knew that his second power attack heals teammates! How useful for group missions!

Anyway, let's jump right into this review.

---

DETAILING

Angel has some cool detailing like the halo symbol on his chest and the wing feathers. It's simple and directly echoes the comics, but there's not a whole lot of detail.

I give Angel's detailing a 5/10!

EXPLORATION

From now on in my reviews I'm only going to mention exploration if it surprises me somehow, and Angel certainly surprised me with his wing-aided double jump! Pretty cool!

VOICING

The voice seems to fit Angel well and I think it sounds like Antony Del Rio but I haven't been able to find confirmation of this.

I give Angel's voicing a 8.5/10!

FIGHTING

Angel fights with a series of sweeping aerial punches and is a little all over the place, but I appreciate the different fighting style. I haven't yet unlocked his healing power attack but I know that once you get it it's pretty useful.

I give Angel's fighting a 7.1/10!

COOL FACTOR

While Angel isn't the coolest hero on the block, his abilities of flight are pretty awesome and in the comics he later turns into a great X-Men anti-hero, Archangel.

Archangel

I give Angel's cool factor a 4.9/10!

OVERALL

Overall, Angel is a good hero to have, especially since he has a healing ability. And the best thing is, he's only 300 gold right now in the shop, and come to think of it, they put poor Gambit at only 150 gold! Why don't they just improve his damage and attack speed instead? Ahem, anyway, if you have a few extra gold pieces, pick up Angel!

I give Angel an overall score of 6.3! :D

---

Anyway, so I decided to get "just one" Green Goblin mystery box to see if I'd get him. I didn't, of course. And now I have a great new Bag goodie!

Really spiffy.
But then I couldn't stop myself and got another one, and yet again I did not get Green Goblin.
This helped me learn an important lesson:

ONLY RICH SHSOFANS CAN GET THE BEST MYSTERY BOX PRIZES!

Sigh. Anyway, there are a few other things worth mentioning.

First of all, you can get a free void potion by entering the code "VOIDPTN".

It's pretty cool. But I'm sure it'll be available in the store soon.

Anyway, I'm not sure when my next What-If will be out, but I haven't started working on it yet so probably not too soon. That may change anytime, though.

Iron Man Mark 42 - Hero Review

I got Iron Man Mark 42 today, and here's what I thought!

DETAILING

Iron Man MK42 has some good detailing, but the textures seem a little low resolution in places, where the lines on his body look pixelated. His whole suit seems more painted on then physical geometry.

I give Iron Man MK42's detailing a 6.4/10!

FIGHTING

Iron Man MK42's attacks are quick, but not very powerful. They are also very sparse, with no more then four or five actions in his combo. However, his combo is also pretty powerful, starting at 9 damage and ending at around 50. His power up, where he sends missiles at an enemy, is weak but fast.

I give Iron Man MK42's fighting a 6.5/10!

COOL FACTOR

Seeing as it's a repaint of an awesome looking hero, it's got to be cool, right?

Yeeaaah.
Yes, it does have more detail. But the chrome finish might be off-putting to some.

I give Iron Man MK42's cool factor a 6.5 out of 10 for not significantly changing the Avengers Iron Man design.

OVERALL

This is a repaint of Avengers Iron Man, but instead of giving us a fresh take on the attacks and design, we get a watered down version of Avengers Iron Man. Would it have killed them to animate a few awesome attacks using the armor's flying off the wearer ability? So go buy Avengers Iron Man instead, or pick up Ends of the Earth Spiderman, a good repaint that's new enough to get you some friend requests.
Or you could be wise and wait for a better hero to come along, like the new Iron Patriot or Rescue.

Get EOTE Spiderman instead!
Overall, I give Iron Man Mark 42 a 6.4 rating based on the average of his ratings in each category.

---

Well, all I can say is, he's "okay" but EOTE Spiderman is "awesome"! Be sure to get him, I can't say enough how cool he is.

Stay tuned for more reviews, news, reports and What-ifs!

Ends of the Earth Spiderman: Hero Review

Welcome to the first thorough and complete hero review! Most of my reviews so far has been pretty casual as far as how in-depth I went to review the heroes. However, lately I've been away from the game a little, and while I was I decided it was time for a proper hero review.
I purchased the $20 gold package, (see post below for details), and purchased Ends of The Earth Spiderman!

I ran through the Green Goblin boss fight, the Venom boss fight, and the Lizard mission, (all Spiderman enemies, hee hee), to gather information about his "FIGHTING".

Anyway, here's the review!

---

DETAILING

There are tiny rivets on his arms, rings of black on his fingers, and tiny "ribs" on the sides of his chest. EOTE Spiderman has some of the best detailing I've seen in the game, aside of course from Avengers Ironman.

I give EOTE Spiderman's detailing a 9/10!

EXPLORATION

EOTE Spiderman does not have standard exploration by any means. He can jump normally, swing through the air on a spider silk thread, crawl up walls, or use his jetpack!

Look! Up in the sky! It's Spiderman! It's Ironman!
No! It's Ends of the Earth Spiderman!

EOTE Spiderman's walk/turn/jump/swing animations are all smooth and fluid, without any awkwardness, and the transitions between them are subtle and feel right.

I give EOTE Spiderman's exploration a 10/10!

FIGHTING

EOTE Spiderman has a great combo chain. It's fast and it isn't overpowered. His Hero Up, which coincidentally has a great reference to the comics where he shoots balls of webbing, is similarly fast.
His first power up damages and freezes enemies for around five seconds, giving you time to take care of big bosses or more dangerous henchmen, tactical-wise.

I tried to count the damage points deducted from enemies in his combo chain and I believe it's 4-6-14-21-39. Like I said, not overpowered, but fast enough that it makes up for it's lack of power. I was able to get adamantium on the Venom boss battle, and I NEVER get adamantium on the Venom boss battle.

I give EOTE Spiderman's fighting a 8.2/10!

COOL FACTOR

Like a boss.

What more could you ask then for a Spiderman repaint by the way of Tony Stark that also happens to tie in to a comic storyline?

What more is there to say?

I give EOTE Spiderman's cool factor a 9/10!

OVERALL

Overall, EOTE Spiderman is the way repaints should be done. Don't just change up the colors and slap a new name on it! Here's to more quality repaints in the future!
My only complaint is that he wasn't released alongside Iron Spider, who I originally confused him with.

I give EOTE Spiderman a 9/10 overall!

---

Well, that about wraps it up for my Ends of the Earth Spiderman review!
Keep a look out for my new Playable Villains What-If Bonus and another What-If coming your way.
This time, I'm going to focus on quality over quantity and get this next What-If looking great, with only a few characters and only two posts, rather then the eight posts I've been doing recently.

Until next time!

Merry Christmas From Rogue

I know it's a little late, but here's a Christmas themed post from me... and Ghost Rider! Who is riding... a sleigh.

Anyway, so I thought I'd buy myself a little present today... :)

There was also a sale today, but I really wanted Avenging Rogue and after weeks and weeks of saving (and a few challenges), I'd finally gotten enough to buy her, so there you are.

So now, my christmas gift to you... an all new review of Avenging Rogue!

AVENGING ROGUE

EXPLORATION

Avenging Rogue has only one jump, as I've come to expect from the character as she's displayed in SHSO. However, I was surprised by her flight ability! I forget whether or not the original Rogue has the ability of flight or not, all I know is that this one does, which is a welcome addition.

I give her EXPLORATION a 4/5! :)

FIGHTING

From what I could tell with one mission as Rogue, she's going to be fun to max. Throughout her combo, she uses attack from various X-Men, from what I can tell she uses powers from Iceman, Pyro (will HE show up in game?), Jean Grey, and maybe Psylocke, and a few others that I couldn't guess! Her most obvious power steal is from Storm, since her first power emote creates a thundercloud over the target enemies' head.

I give her FIGHTING a 4.4/5!

COOL FACTOR

And the winners of the World's Coolest Couple are... :P
Seriously though, Rogue's awesome new hood is really cool, and I also like the change in color from yellow to white as the secondary color on her outfit. Overall, I probably like this Rogue more then the other one.

I give her COOL FACTOR a 4/5! :D

OVERALL: Rogue rates 4 overall as a hero. While her exploration was fun and easy, I would have liked her jump to be just a bit higher, so that I didn't miss ledges as much while exploring the city. And while I loved all the references in her combo and attacks, I felt like her first power attack and her Hero Up were a little too underpowered. So yeah, go get Avenging Rogue! Despite these small faults, the most important ones will probably sort themselves out as you progress through her levels, and that Hero Up and first power attack get boosted. :)

---

So anyway, Merry Christmas, or whatever you celebrate, and Happy New Year as well! :D
I hope you've enjoyed the holidays, AND the new holiday sale that's going on! :)

Oh, and there's a new poll out now, look for it in the sidebar!
Later!
